I volunteer with the Animal Rescue League on a regular basis, but make it a point to give my time to work on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, since most people won't volunteer on those days. I also hunt down clearanced toys over the year and save them to donate at Christmas. This year I have aquired three gigantic boxes to donate, and will either donate to Toys for Tots or to children in need through the Fire Department or California Highway Patrol.
What will you be doing?

Toys For Tots for sure every year, and then I also dontae time to our local Christian Rescue Mission.
Our church & Boy Scouts year-round, but I do try a little harder to donate blood this time of year. We'll also have exchange students from nearby colleges stay with us over some holidays - too far to go home for so short a time, but most campuses are like ghost towns, so many are often looking for a place to go.

I donate to the Local Animal shelter.
I "used to" donate to the salvation army, until a co-worker who is part of it mentioned that they use part of the collected money to pay for a dinner for their volunteers.
