The Four Horsemen have taken the time out of their extremely busy schedule to deliver yet another FANtastic Exclusive figure to collectors the Queen Alluxandra (Swimsuit Edition). Today we take a closer look at this new figure in our in-depth review.
PACKAGING: This new release is packaged in a similar form as previous FANtastic Exclusive figures only this time it features a clamshell and blister card combination. This new design allows the collector to simply slide the blister card out without damaging the card and granting easy access to the plastic figure tray. The clamshell's edges folds around the blister card back and hold the card firmly all around without the use of tape. This is a great concept which will appeal to collectors who like to repackage their figures. The blister card features a character bio and one-of-a-kind art work which is visually amazing.
SCULPT/ACCESORIES: The Horsemen have done an incredible job on this figure. The queen features extremely intricate details all around including her unique wardrobe/armor, headdress and scabbards. The figure features a sculpted cape which highly resembles the look and texture of fur. The figure's proportion are much smaller than the MOTUC female bodies and is appropriately scaled in comparison to other FANtastic Exclusive figures. The queen includes quite the arsenal of weapons with a staff, short sword and dagger which can be stowed away in a sheath which is attached to her belt.
PAINT: The new heroic queen features a vibrant abundance of colors which enhance the overall look of the figure. This figure features a variant paint motif which reveals a sexier side of the queen by exposing her thighs and abdomen which are accented in a flesh toned color. Alluxandra's uniquely crafted wardrobe is painted elegantly with some minor applications flaws throughout the body.
ARTICULATION: Queen Alluxandra features an extensive amount of articulated joints which make the figure very flexible for posing. Unfortunately, some of the joints are a bit loose and the sculpted fur cape limit’s the figure from being placed in more dynamic poses. Queen Alluxandra features over 20 points of articulation.
OVERALL: This new swimsuit variant of the queen is more appealing to me than the original version and blends in pretty well with the MOTUC toy line with the fantasy and barbaric elements represented on her wardrobe. Although the figure is not as poseable as previous FANtastic Exclusive figures because of the sculpted cape, she is still a very welcome addition to the "FANtastic" toy line. The Queen Alluxandra (Swimsuit Edition) figure is available in extremely limited quantities through Store Horsemen for $20, so head on over there and secure this great action figure before she disappears.
