Following the release of their new Nightmare on Elm Street action figures (in stores now, read our review HERE), NECA will unleash Freddy's iconic bladed glove.
The 1:1 scale prop replica accurately depicts the newly designed weapon as seen in the upcoming film, featuring "skeletal" copper strips on the back of the hand, as opposed to a full metal plate seen on previous movie gloves. Constructed of durable real metal, the new Freddy glove is also unique in that it stars fully capped fingertips and a wrist armature that secures the device via a screw. I had a chance to try on this amazing new bladed glove at Toy Fair and was more than impressed. While the metal blades are not sharp, they do appear very pointed and lethal. The leather glove is also made of a nice and rugged material. It's a real leather glove, not a cheap, flimsy knock-off.
NECA's Freddy's Glove Prop Replica is scheduled for release in early May. It will be a Toys"R"Us exclusive in the U.S. priced at an affordable SRP of $60. The glove replica is marketed for ages 17 and up and is NOT a child's toy. Check out the cool new images below.
A Nightmare on Elm Street, starring Jackie Haley as Freddy Krueger, opens in theaters nationwide April 30.
