Every toy company has to start somewhere and for Sideshow Collectibles that beginning was with Universal Monsters, more specifically, Little Big Head Universal Monsters. Before the success of their uber-cool 8-inch action figure line, Sideshow Toys, as they were known at the time, released a popular series of mini-monsters, each stylized with a huge noggin' dwarfing a tiny body. The Little Big Head format included a bunch of other licensed properties, such as Bruce Lee and even Jesse Ventura, but the Universal Monsters were where the money was at. Their popularity resulted in this off-shoot that capitalized on the fingerboard craze. Called Monster Shredders, the series captured Frankenstein, Dracula, Wolf Man and company having some fun on minature skateboards. While serious collectors didn't find the line that funny at the time, it's Sideshow having the last laugh today...
