Play Mind Toys had an ambitious project in the early 2000's with a series of real metal action figures appropriately titled Titanium (this was before Hasbro branded the name for their die-cast Star Wars vehicles). Standing about 6 inches tall, the figures used a core body that resembled a large Stikfas with multiple attachment points for gear and weapons. Contruction-wise, these were some seriously well-built toys, the real metal content lending them great durability (and heft). Unfortunately, Titanium never found a devoted following, ending the line almost as soon as it began. Titanium's simplistic design was no doubt a turn-off to mature collectors, though I believe the lack of product recognition - via a media tie-in - ultimately led to its demise.
