Insight Edition's The World According to Thor & Iron Man

Two New Hardcover Books Provide Unique Insight Into The Marvel Universe...

Insight Edition, publishers of fan-favorite pop culture books like Man of Steel - Inside the Legendary World of Superman and Pacific Rim - Man, Machines and Monsters) brings to life two new awesome books based on fan-favorite characters featured in this spring's Avengers film; The World According to Iron Man (above) and The World According to Thor (below).

Both books take a unique perspective as they're written from the viewpoint of the titular characters. In order to ensure a fun, accurate and engaging look into these unique worlds, master storytellers and writers were tapped here to ensure only the best for fans of all ages. Thor's book is written by fan-favorite Eisner and Harvey Award nominated comic writer Marc Sumerak while Iron Man's is written by both Sumerak and award-winning writer/creator Larry Hama.

Both books use there unique perspectives to give fans an inside look into the unique lifestyles of these Avengers; one from the viewpoint of a genius billionaire playboy philanthropist and the other from the viewpoint of a warrior-born Asgaridian prince.

Tony Stark's view provides insight into everything from the various women he's dated and the luxuries he's enjoyed to the variety of roles he's played (prisoner of war, Avenger, SHIELD Director) and the various armors he's created. Other sections of the book feature a literal "who's who" of Marvel inventor, including everyone from Doctor Doom and Reed Richards to Bruce Banner and Hank McCoy, while other portions of the book include other Armored Marvel characters and how their powers compared to Iron Man's.

Thor's view provides a look through the Thunder God's family tree - including his father Odin, his step-mother Freya, his foster brother Loki and others, a look at his allies and enemies, a unique view of Thor's home Asgard and the entire Nine Realms. Each of the realm's attributes are explored as is the Rainbow Bridge (the fastest way to travel anywhere!), the magic of Bifrost (and the trouble it can cause) and more. The book also provides an exciting look at Thor's magical hammer, Mjölnir, what it can - and can not - do, and the other mighty warriors who've lifted this weapon. Beyond this, Thor reveals the future and Ragnarök, when he'll battle the Midgard Serpent at the end of days.

Added material to both books makes for a special bonus; each including fun pop-up pages, certificates, designs, stickers, diagrams and/or maps that make for an interactive experience.

The World According to Iron Man includes a Stark Industries share certificate (who doesn't want to have proof of owning a bit of the public company?), an invite to the Avengers New Year's Eve party (who doesn't want to attend this get-together?), and a pop-up Iron Man armor (which, sadly, my 2 year old son quickly and quietly tore off the page).

Added material The World According to Thor includes a pop-up Frog Thor page (who remembers this?), Loki's mischief list (did you make the list?), and Odin's stamp collection (for when you simply have to send something to Asgard!). Fun and funny, these small bonuses make the books even more exciting - especially for younger readers.

Overall, both The World According to Iron Man and The World According to Thor provide for a fun, exciting and engaging way in which to explore the unique worlds of both of these Marvel characters. With the popularity of the Avengers and the attention both Iron Man and Thor garner, both of these books are a great way to introduce new fans and young and old fans alike to these two fan-favorites. With the added benefit of bonus materials like certificates, maps and stamps, the experience of owning these books isn't just limited to reading and looking at pictures, but more so, enjoying the fun even after the covers have closed.

Both The World According to Iron Man and The World According to Thor are available now wherever fine books are sold.
