Toynami made an unexpected New York Comic Con appearance this year. The company was selling a variety of San Diego exclusives for the East Cost crowd along with displaying numerous licensed product from Futurama, Voltron, Robotech, Godzilla and more. Highlights included:
GODZILLA: A Jumbo Machinder Shogun Warrior Godzilla figure will see release in Spring 2015. Styled after the original figure released by Mattel in 1979, the giant lizard will feature flicking tongue and spring-loaded launching fist action. Also due out next Spring is a very cool
Godzilla Statue. Pricing on both releases to be announced.
ROBOTECH: 2015 marks Robotech's 30th Anniversary and to celebrate Toynami is releasing new collectibles this month. Items include a series of 1/100 Scale Veritech Transformables (see
HERE) and my personal favorite, a series of 3-inch tall Super Deformed Robotech figures. Those that went to SDCC received a taste of the new chibi line with a show exclusive
Skull Leader VF-1S (in Military Gray). The full blind boxed series will not only star the VF-1S (in white) but a variety of other Veritechs, Destroids... even an adorable
Zentraedi Battlepod!
VOLTRON: Speaking of Super Deformed, Lion Force Voltron will receive a premium SD figure (see our story
HERE). Crafted in die-cast and plastic, the approximately 4-inch tall figure will include a ton of accessories. Look for it in December priced at $79.99. In March 2015, Voltron fans can look forward to a 24" Jumbo Machinder Voltron. The figure will feature freewheeling rolling feet, and like Godzilla, spring-loaded firing fists!
