Super-Sized Vintage O-Ring Figures...
Gentle Giant and GI Joe, two words fans thought they'd never hear together. San Diego Comic-Con, however, unveiled exactly that: a new series of Jumbo Vintage O-Ring Hasbro GI Joe figures; the super-sized concept used to great success with Gentle Giant's Jumbo Kenner Star Wars figure series. Unlike the stiff 5-point articulation of the Jumbo Star Wars, the Jumbo GI Joe figures star all the great range of movement as the originals, minus the glaring problem of snapping o-rings; these new Joes will be engineered without them.
On display at Comic-Con, complete with all their original weapons and accessories, were:
- Zap
- Stalker
- Grunt
- Snake Eyes
- Rock n Roll
The debut of Gentle Giant's Jumbo O-Ring series celebrates GI Joe's 50th Anniversary, something that was inexplicably absent at Hasbro's booth (and at retail in general) this year.
